Getting preapproved - recommendations???

Can someone recommend a bank, banker,
that will do preapproval for us?

My FH called one bank and said he could do it over the phone. It didn't seem 'right' to us though.

If you can recommend a person in Nassau County preferably- that'd be wonderful & thank you.

We used Bank of America - they have a mortgage office in Hempstead, I think. But we did everything over the phone and fax.
