Originally I was going to stay at a hotel the night before and then the night of with FH. Well it's like $900 for a suite for 2 nights. A while back I checked and it was less and now it went up. I can't see us spending $900 on 2 nights when we have rent and other things to pay.
We live in the aparment next door to my mom in. Is it crazy for me to get ready in one apartment and FH in the other? I figure this way the photog can get pics of both of us getting ready and the limo doesnt have to show up as early since we are 2 minutes from the church. What should I do?

I will be getting ready at my mom's house and FH will be getting ready at his parents house. We have 2 photogs so one will be going to his house and the other to my mom's.
I don't think it crazy for you to do that though - just makes sure you guys don't bump into each other before the ceremony!

I think that sounds like a good plan. I think I am staying over my mom's house (FH & I live together) and get ready there and FH will get ready at our house. My house is really close to my moms and the church. Would the limo pick up FH and drop him off at the cuhurch first and then come back for you so you dont see each other?

I like this idea! it's perfect.
It stinks because my mom wants me to get ready at our house, but it's in queens and the church in in Bay Shore.
Mom's really upset, but I can't see going 45 mins from my house to the church.

I'm staying at me and FH's condo the night before, and then driving or getting picked up and getting ready at my mom's house.
I would suggest just paying for the hotel for your wedding night and save the other 400

I'm staying in the hotel suite the night before and FH will be at our place. If the suite cost 900 for 2 nights i would be sleeping at home right next to FH. Thats alot

that sounds like alot- unless you get a regular room the night before and the suite the night of. i am getting ready at our house and fh is sleeping at his mothers house.

I think it's fine to get ready in adjacent apartments...just make sure that you have someone keeping track of both of you so you don't run into each other. It definitely is convenient for the photog/videog!!

can you maybe find a diff hotel? does it have to be a suite? where r u getting married maybe we can help you look for another hotel? do you have a room block there? maybe they can offer you a discount with certain amount of rooms booked.

One of my friends got ready in one house, one downstairs and everything worked out fine....they just made strict rules about not seeing each other
