Getting Ready Before the Ceremony...

Do your BMs get ready with you? Or do they come to the house with their hair and make up done, and just get dressed?

My mom and i were talking this morning and she said when she got married, the girls got ready on their own, and just came to her to get dressed. She also asked her co-worker how it was. And she said the same thing. But i thought now a days, all the girls got ready with you?

But how does that work? Around what time would you need to start to get ready? Do you only have 1 make up and 1 hair person for all of you? What would be the time schedule for that day? o man...i feel like i know nothing!

we are all getting ready together in the bridal suite that the RH provides! I Make up, hair...the works! I think it's nice to do it all together, wherever you are getting ready
We have 1 makeup artist and 1 hairstylist...the ceremony starts at 3 so we are going to meet up at 11 for brunch and all!

we are planning on all getting ready together at the hotel and then once we get to the RH we will get dressed.. I am too paranoid to get in and out of the limo in my dress... lol

All the girls got ready together. We went to a salon near my parents' house and had 3 girls do hair for us (me, MOH, 3 BMs, and my mom--so 6 women all together), then went back to my parents house and had make-up done there, and got dressed there--it was very nice and relaxing, I highly recommend having them get ready with you!

My mom and sisters and aunt all went to the salon together, then got dressed at my mom's house. One of my girls went to her own place for hair since she had a pretty long drive, and another girl did all her own, then met me at my mom's. Basically, I just said 'Be here by X pm, ready to go for pictures.'

All my girls minus one got ready with me. The one girl had her hair and MU done at the salon she worked at.

Out of the other 3 only 1 got her MU done by my MU girl and one got her hair done by my aunt.
I got my hair done at 830 am, got my MU done at about 11 (long story but I got stuck at the hair salon until almost 11) my MU took about an hour and I was done and ready to get dressed at about 1200 but I waited to get dressed since we werent getting picked up until 130

My BM who got her MU done got it done while I had my hair done, my MIL got her MU done while I got dressed

I loved having the girls get ready with me.
The photographers and videographers got it all on tape, and honestly, this is one of my favorite parts of the video to watch.
We had such a good time together.
Also, you can get a better dea from the hair/make up people if you have more people getting ready together.

I am having my hair and makeup done at a salon near me, and my mom and 2 of my BM's will be getting their hair and makeup done there also. The other 3 BMs will be getting their hair & MU done at their own salons. When everyone is done we will meet at my parents house, have lunch, and wait for the photographer to get there and get dressed and such.

For those of you who got ready with your BMs, did they pay for their own hair/makeup? I think I'm going to have the people who do my hair/makeup also do my mom's and sister's but I just can't afford to pay for all my BM's hair and makeup. So if I ask them to get ready with me, do I have to tell them in advance that I'm not paying for their hair and makeup but if they want it done, let me know and I'll make sure someone is available for them? I just don't want it to get awkward moneywise.

I am wondering about this as well! A couple of my BMs informed me that they also want their hair and make-up done. They wanted to come to my house and get ready with me. I am a little stressed about that because my house is small and I have 7 BMs so it may not be convenient. I thought about getting ready at a hotel or having hair and make-up done at a salon but we will be getting ready very early in the morning because my ceremony is at noon and we will take pics beforehand. All in all, we will probably need to be all ready by 10am! Any suggestions? TIA!

My girls came to the hotel that I was staying in and got their hair & makeup done with me. Then they all got dressed...and then helped me with my dress

Yes, they paid for their own
They slept over my house the night before (we had a fun time the night before, too!), and then we all woke up at 5AM, when the hair/make up people came to my house for all of us.
It was really great!

I did pay for it for them, I wanted to do that. 2 chose not to get their make-up done and did their own anyway, and that was fine. But, I will say I got hair done at a salon so it was more like $60 for an updo for me and for them, and make-up was also in that range, so really not as expensive as some other vendors are...
