Getting ready to TTC
What are the things that you are doing or did or know about to get ready to TTC? I am taking the prenatal vitamins daily even though we are getting married in December my doc started me on them. Is there anything else I should be doing?

Re: Getting ready to TTC
If you drink lots of coffee, soda, or stuff with caffeine you should start weaning yourself off that. Good luck!!

Re: Great book
I think you have to watch your caffeine intake and not eat too much chocalate.
No wonder why expectant mommies are so tired. LOL

Do you have to cut out artificial sweeteners before you conceive or only after? I hate to have to give up my diet soda even though they are already caffeine free

Re: soda..
I would also try to lose any extra weight, it will help in the pregnancy and after. I think just general changes leading to a healthy lefestyle (diet, excercise, etc) would be good.

Re: soda..
FOLIC ACID!!! You can begin taking it years before TTC and it is very important for the babies development. I have been taking a Folic Acid pill for almost a year now, and I will not be TTC until the summer time. Also, if you have any weight that you want to lose now is the time to do it,

Re: soda..

Re:
Folic acid is recommended b/c it is thought to reduce neural tube defects. Since the spinal cord is developed before you will find out if you're pg (the first couple of weeks after conception), you need to have the folic acid in your system when you conceive. So, that's why they recommend it if you are of childbearing age and ttc. HTHWelcome New Vendors
