getting ring re-done

getting ring re-done

ok so tomorrow my FI and I are heading into the city to have my ring reset b/c the basket sits low on my finger and all the wedding bands we have tried on do NOT sit flush with the ring b/c they hit into the basket. I really LOVE my ring, but I also REALLY want my wedding band to sit right up against it so we are going in to fix it tomorrow. Anyone have to fix their ring? If i dont like it i might cry...

good luck! If it bothers you then do it! but i understand why you feel sad also. Maybe they can keep your roing pretty much the same and just raise so a band will sit flush

there are no wedding bands that sit flush against mine either but im keeping mine as is and just going to deal with it.

yeah they said they were going to raise is about about two millimeters, which is really nothing, but this is the ring that he gave me and i love it so much, but im sure i will love the new one too!

I have the same problem with my ring but I have a pear shape so nothing really will sit right against it. BUT i am just duplicating my band setting for my wedding band and it has a space but looks like there is a band on both sides of the diamond. That probably doesnt make sense but it looks like those rings that have two bands and i LOVE the way that looks. Just another idea if you don't want to change your ring.

Same with mine. I've been to a few places to try different styles on and no matter what they were, they did not look right at all. They separate from my ering so much, doesn't look right.

I think I'm going to be in the same situation. I have a 6 prong solitaire and wanted one that had a more curved basket, and sits lower on the band rather than straight tall prongs. I like that I don't bang my ring into anything and I love it the way it is, even though I know nothing will fit flush against it. I don't really know what I'm going to do about bands -- we havent looked yet!

Re: getting ring re-done

there is a slight problem with my E-ring.
The place we got it from offered to fix it for free, it's cosmetic sort of... so I have to decide if I want to change it or not.

I don't know what to do, b/c it's the ring he proposed with, and i'd be getting the same ring back and all, but slightly different and i'm not sure if it's worth it. I mean, no relationship is PERFECT, so maybe my ring doesnt need to be, or better yet, maybe it's perfectly imperfect.

it's a hard choice.

your situation is different. if you LOVE your ring, and don't really want to change it, perhaps wearing your band on your other hand isn't a bad option.
I know for me, it had to be both rings on one finger or i didn't want anything at all...

i'm no help
