So now that I have my dress (Maggie Vogue Royale)...what is the best way to get the best price? Whom do you recommend to call? How about RK No Frills?
Thanks!!

Re: Getting the best price on the dress?
call the shops that are authorized maggie dealers on the website and ask them how much the dress will be to order. most will quote prices over the phone or at least call you back with a price. don't forget to ask about their alterations too!
make a list of the places you call, dress price and alteration costs. then choose the place you prefer to order from and ask if they can match the best quote you got, or at least give you a better price than the initial quote.
Rk has good prices on the dresses, but their alterations cap was pretty high from what i remember.
BTW, you chose a beautiful dress!

Re: Getting the best price on the dress?
Originally I found my dress at Bergdoff Goodman, but like you, I wanted to shop around. Well there is only one another authorized dealer in NY that sales Ines Di Santo gowns, so I made an appointment there and told them the price I was given so far. They beat my original price! So I would just call around, I don't know how many places will give you numbers over the phone but its definitely worth it to go to at least two other stores to compare pricing.....even compare the alterations. Like at Bergdoff there is no cap, so for all I know I could have spent $1000 just on alterations apposed to my cap now at Bridal Reflections which is I think $395.

i'd try to call around and find out the best price you can get - then take that to a place that is easy for you to get to and that you are comfortable with and see if they can match the price. that way you can get there easily for fittings and stuff.

Dont forget when you call these shops, find out how much alterations are too. A dress might be hundreds cheaper at one shop, but may charge an arm and a leg for alterations.
I bought my dress (not a Maggie) at Lillettes in Baldwin. The dress was like $50 cheaper there than at another shop, plus Lillettes caps their alterations and the other shop did not.

Call around and you will be surprise the many different prices you get. With the RK no frills program you dont have to do your alterations through them so if you have a good place to take it then maybe that could be an option and you could end up saving money which is always a good thing.

probably - they might ask you to sepak to someone different but since you're there, you might as well.

when i went dress shopping i loved a dress. i asked them is the price set in stone/can they work with me. they said the manufacture is pretty strict so the price on the tag is the PRICE. but they were will to work with me on bm dresses. i was so pissed!!! oh and they wouldnt even give me a cap for alterations.

I would DEF see about negotiating...the store where I found my dress had signs all over that said they would beat any other prices...Also, I called Helen's and they quoted me $211 less
