Getting the marriage license

So when we show up to town hall to purchase a marriage license, do we get it right there or does it take a couple of days/weeks for us to receive it in the mail? The reason I ask is because we are planning on going July 3rd to get our license and the wedding is July 26th (we live out of town, so that is the only time we can go down together). Are we cutting it too close?

I just went today. It was $40.00. And you get it that day. Also make sure you have your original Birth Certificate. Me and FH didnt have one so we brought our Original Baptismal certificate. That works as well. You also need your license.

exactly! And do it more than 24 hours prior to your wedding date!

some places even say 48 hours.
You et everything the same day!
your not cutting it close, i got mine 3 days before the wedding
