Getting to know the new brides! Part 7

How long did you lurk before you decided to register for LIW? What made you decide to join?

I lurked for about two weeks after finding the site. I was looking for reviews on JT and that brought me to LIW. I had the date set in my mind, but I wasn't sure if I would be a 2012 or 2013 bride due to money. I felt like I couldn't join the site yet until I figured that out. I was totally freaking out when I saw the 2012 brides list and saw that there were already 3 brides booked for the date that I wanted at JT and knew there was only one spot left. Boy was I stressed trying to figure out the budget so we could snag that last room in time.

Once I officially joined I felt all the stress go away and knew that this site would help me with all my wedding plans. Especially since I knew nothing about weddings.

I joined back in Sept 2010 when I got engaged but had no idea about the chat boards until I really started planning in Feb of 2011. I did lurk though for a while before actually posting

I found this website about a week before I got engaged and joined about a week after I was engaged.

I lurked the site, but not the boards! I'm usually on BabyCenter.com 24/7 but now I'm always on here since I discovered the chat boards :). I got engaged in August and joined here I think exactly a month later but didn't start posting till October I think!

i am still kind of a lurker. i got engaged in spet 2010 and joined a few weeks after (my sis had been on in 2005 so i knew what it was), but as you can see, in all that time i only posted about 300 times. i'm just a shy person i guess

I actually would view the boards when I was helping my friend plan her wedding but never registered until after I got engaged lol

I'm a loser and lurked a few years back, but that's bc I found the site when I was a BM for a friend. I signed up for LIW last year but didn't get enggaged till July and started posting after that.

I didnt lurk for too long...maybe a couple weeks..I used it to get some RH's names and I really didnt read peoples posts until after I got engaged.

only like a month before I got engaged- one of my BM's is a 2011er so she told me about it- then it became obsession

This one is actually tough for me to admit....but, what the heck!?!?

Back in 2007, I was engaged---married in 2008. At the time, I was so uncomfortable with getting married...so unhappy with the idea.....and I used to look on this site and be so sad. I couldn't relate to ANYONE. I was not in love and I was freaking out in fear...not happy at all. So, I never joined.

After much fighting, therapy, medication, etc....the marriage was annulled within one year. And, I was immediately relieved.

It was a huge mistake....and I was so ashamed of myself.
But, then I met FH....and he was seriously all of my dreams come true! Everything changed, and suddenly, I could COMPLETELY relate to everything that I had read on LIW in 2008.

So, I couldn't wait to get back on when we got engaged...and I'm loving it!
