Just thought I'd post this since it might be helpful....
My DH and I just moved into our new home and we found out we have two dead 50ft. trees in the backyard. If anyone has received estimates on removing trees you know it's quite pricey.
Anyway, we called a Timber/Lumber company and they are coming to cut & remove the trees for free since they buy trees for fire wood and lumber they were happy to take our trees free of charge.
Just a cost saving tip if anyone needs to have trees removed. I'll let you know how everything turns out once it's done!!!

Re: Getting Trees removed from my backyard for FREE
Wow! That is really good news. They take any height and any type of tree? We have a huge pine tree in our backyard that mey need to come down. One of the neighbors is complaining about the pine needles making a mess in his backyard as well as his gutters. It's kinda making a mess in our backyard as well!
Do you have a number where I can reach them??

Re: Getting Trees removed from my backyard for FREE
SeptBride: how about you give us the phone number for the one you used in NJ and maybe they know the phone number for LI, since no one can find the number.
I am interested in that also. Would they remove a stump also for free? Probably not.

Re: Getting Trees removed from my backyard for FREE
I still didn't get the number. This place sounds too good to be true cutting down your trees for free. Places charge a couple of hundred to do this usually.

Re: Getting Trees removed from my backyard for FREE
I found someone to cut the trees down and then I was told that they counld not come to Essex County b/c their insurance does not cover Essex County. The lady I spoke to tried to find me someone in Essex County but no luck.
I've also tried calling other lumber/timber companies but no luck.
Anyway, I've been getting quotes from different companies to cut down a few of my trees. I have four that have to come down before the winter b/c they pose a threat to my house -- they are over 50 feet!!! Anyway I've been given quotes from 3, 500 - 6,000 so far.
