Re: getting your baptismal certificate...
even if your mom has one you need a new one (issued within 6 months of your wedding) well i was baptised in poland so my grandpa went to the church and got me a copy - you just call up and say you need it & pick it up that's it

Re: getting your baptismal certificate...
I had to go through this. If this is for a church wedding, You have to get a current baptismal certificate. Meaning no older than a few months old. (they want to be sure you do not sneak & get married to one person then run & get married to another since you got the certificate.. haha.
It need to be a stamped copy from the church you were baptized at. Call the church, tell them you are getting married, give them your name, birthday, parents names (mom's maiden) & approximate date of baptism if you know it. (at the very least the year)
They can mail it to you, though some church make you give them a $5 donation to do so.
hope that helps hon!

Yeah my church was a sweetheart & there was no 'voluntary' donation. FH church in Queens wanted it sent in with a written request for the cert.

I wonder if it was the same church my FH had! They requested a written letter too! HAHA, they said it was because they got phone calls all the time requesting them and then when it came in the mail they called back to say they didn't request it! Weird, but neither one of our churches asked for a donation. I actually was born and grew up in NJ and when I called my church the receptionist remembered me and it became such a weird wedding moment, she couldn't believe I was grown up and getting married.

I have to get my originals as well. You have to contact your church. If you did your first communion then all you need is that b/c in the back it will indicate when and where u got baptized.

I just called the church in Queens I was baptized in and they mailed it to me (no charge or donation). I did it all on the phone. Actually I received it in about 3 days, it was really quick(same with DH and his was a different church).

Re: getting your baptismal certificate...
My DH had to call the Church where he was baptized and ask them to mail him a copy.
They took care of sending it very quickly, we were shocked! Everyone told us it would take forever to get it ...
