How much does it cost and how long do they have to keep the rings from you? My engagement ring and my wedding band each fits perfect. However when I'm wearing BOTH they are too snug b/c the rings sits differently on my finger. I am annoyed about this. And don't know if I can bear to be with out my E-ring...

Re: Getting your rings resized
I had the jeweler that FH bought my ring from resize it and it was free. They don't do anything on site so it had to be sent in and took 1 week

Re: Getting your rings resized
resizing was free with purchase. It took about a week. Although if you want to make it bigger it might not take that long. I think the ymight be able to stretch it out if its not that much bigger. Do you have any side stones or design on your ering band?

Yeah, I have side stones but they don't go all the way around. I called blue nile and since the wedding band is within 45 days that will be free to resize, but my engagement ring since it was purchased before that will be 73 bucks, I have to send it it to them. I only need to go half a size bigger. I'm wondering if I'd be better off sending in the band and taking care of the e-ring at another time...

Re: Getting your rings resized
Does anyone recommend a jeweler to do the resizing if going to the one that the ring was purchased is not an option?

i don't think that is a good idea. i personally feel you should always go back to the same place it came from.

Cambridge in RF mall resized mine on the spot for 20.00. I watched the guy do it. I was INSANE about shipping my ring off so I didn't.

Re: Getting your rings resized
if it just needs to be made slightly bigger then they usually just stretch it. I got my rings at Busy Bee in Massapequa.....ask for Gary.... he's great and will do it on the spot.

Our jeweler is in Manhattan in the jewelery district by the Bowery - he resized it on site and does it for free...

Re: Getting your rings resized
Getting a ring made slightly larger usually takes about 15-30 seconds. Most jewelers, if they can do it onsite, will do it while you wait.
Can I make one recommendation, though? Wear the rings together for a few days before having them made bigger. My e-ring felt tight when FH first proposed but within 2 days it was fitting perfectly. Sometimes the ring gives a little and your finger will always indent itself slightly after wearing a ring...so you might not need yours resized after all. Or if you do have it made larger, it might be too big after those few days.

This is true, my wedding is not for a year so I guess I will try it, and after the wedding if it really feels too uncomfortable then I'll have them stretched...

I agree. I could barely get it on when FH proposed and now it fits perfectly
