Ladies, I bought a sample dress at Kleinfelds and I was going to have them alter it (as a treat to myself and the dress) but I called to make an appt with them for fittings and the lady told me that since its a sample they need to clean it first... Im thinking its included in the alteration price, since its ridic to begin with, and the lady told me that its an extra $300 to clean it only!!!! Needless to say I cant afford it.. Im thinking of scratching the whole idea and just getting it cleaned and altered eleswhere... does anyone know of a good clearner that specialized in wedding dresses?

Oh wow - I need to be in on this, too, because my dress is a sample Judd Waddell that needs to be cleaned before its altered, etc - My alterations lady is aparently amazing. her business card I have is at home, though, so if we dont' get a good recommendation here, I'll post it later!

I'm not sure - but I will definitely call when I get home. (Going out to dinner first, so it might be around 9-10pm)

Re: Getting your Wedding Dress cleaned?
I had my dress cleaned before my wedding because it accidentally got dirty on the very bottom, it cost me 150.00 including being pressed, at a local dry cleaner.

Ask them what company they use to clean the dress and see if they will comp you for it because its a sample dress. They should be responsible for cleaning it

Well I bought it at their sample sale so I guess they arent responsible because I walked out with the dress and i didnt sign a contract to have it altered with them or anything altough they did quote me a price in case I decided to use them for alterations
