Okay, so those of you who have talked to me at all within these past 3 months (which is most of you) know about how FH & his family right now all live in Colorado. Nobody on his side of the family is coming out to New York for the wedding except for his bestman. His mother, however, is throwing us a second reception when we get back to Co after the wedding, so that HIS family can celebrate with us (plus i haven't met all of his extended relatives yet). Obviously it's MUCH smaller than the one out here. No DJ or Photographers obviously. I think it's just pretty much going to be a nice fancy dinner where they'll also be showing the video of our ceremony.
At first I wasn't going to get FILs any gifts since they weren't apart of our wedding at all, but when she decided to do this, I'm now thinking that we should definitely get her something.
What do ya think? And if so, what??? For MY parents I got a beautiful engraved frame in which we will fill with a Wedding picture later (of FH & I WITH my parents). I don't think i wanna do that same thing for FMIL since I don't know what kinda picture would go into it. She's not into jewelry. It's very country out there, so it's not as though she'd enjoy any expensive fancy knickknacks. So I've got no clue.
Any suggestions???

How about a gift basket from Bath & Body Works. That's always a nice gift that someone can use.

I think a wedding picture of you or maybe a nice album of the time you spent there and at your party she is hosting for you would be really nice.

both great ideas. Just because she can't be at your wedding she may still want a nice professional picture of you and your FH from that special day. Maybe also one of FH and his brother (her two sons).

thanks. So far those both are good ideas. I know she likes candles and other Bath & Body Works stuff, so a basket of that would prob be nice. Plus a photo of me & FH at the wedding I'm sure she'd appreciate. I just can't do a picture (or album) of us all together, because I don't even know if pictures are really being taken at the reception she's throwing us. I'm not going to know too many people there, so I know that I'M not gonna be the one carrying around a camera and asking people to take pictures. It'll probably just be whatever random pictures his family gets. I'm sure they'll send me copies at some point.
