I am going to be leaving gift baskets for those guests who are spending the night in the hotel. I wanted to make these baskets special, possibly each basket different.
So... I was wondering if anyone made baskets for thier over night guests... what type of goodies did you incorporate? Thanks so much!

Re: Gift Baskets
My brother did it for his wedding in Rochester. They had some chips, cookies, water, soda gum, mints and directions to nearby eateries (I can't remember what else)

Re: Gift Baskets
Put some kind of pain killer for the morning after in your friends baskets....always comes in handy if you don't need to search for it with a hangover.

Re: Gift Baskets
We are making them...so far we went to the tourist board & got all pamphlets on what to do in LI with maps. We got I LOVE NY pins, and postcards. When we get closer we are going to ad some snakcs (crakers/chips), water, asprin, and a little bottle of pindor.

Re: Gift Baskets
I contacted the LI convention bureau, and they sent me the LI guide. Of course I don't need it till 2003, and I had to throw them out, but i will do it again closer to the date
Also, instead of baskets, I am using bags. Not sure yet if I'll decrate them - I'm in a decorating mood, but it might pass
Also definately putting in a letter. Depending on who stays at the hotel, I might personalise each one - we'll see

Re: Gift Baskets
hotelcalie - you 'went' to the tourist board? Where is that? I would love to be able to get the stuff you got - can you tell me how?
Thanks!

OOOOO yes Dubliner, a letter was put into the baskets. I think it was more of a generic one though, thanking everyone.

Re: Gift Baskets
It is on the LIE by Commack. It is an old railroad car on the eastbound side. I went this summer. I am not sure if they are open all year or just for the summer. You may want to call...I just did a quick search and they had 2 locations listed:
Long Island Assn. 80 Hauppauge Rd. Commack, L.I., NY 11725 (516) 499-4400 Fax: (516) 499-2194
Long Island Convention & Visitors Bureau 350 Vanderbilt Motor Pkwy. #103 Hauppauge, NY 11788 (516) 951-3440 Fax: (516) 951-3439
Good Luck!
