We just received our first gift from our registry...I ripped it open & FH said we should leave it until the wedding...i thought it would be proper to send a Thank You right now since the wedding isn't for 2 months.
So my question is...do you open the gifts as they come or save them for after the wedding? I haven't had my shower yet, so they could be shower gifts...what's everyone else doing?

I would definitely open them now (and I have already.). I would think that the person who sent it would think it was strange if they don't hear anything about you receiving it until months later.

Open them up...it could just be a late enagagment present...These people are going to want to make sure you got it.....and be looking for a thank you I assume.

I think it's best to open them now. First of, who knows when you'll have time to open them all after teh wedding. Second, you can do the thank you cards now and you won't have such a huge stack after the wedding. Third, who can just let a present sit in their house that long without opening it?????

Much better to open them now and get the thank you cards out of the way NOW... you're going to have sooo many to write after the wedding that you may as well get a head start!!!

Ok, if its for the shower, you should save to open it at the shower.
If it is an actual wedding present, open it now, but i would wait and send a thank you until after the wedding.

I dont think its a problem. Sometimes when I give people gifts., I think its weird that they wait and open them after an event (ie a birthday, xmas, wedding)

ETA: It was 2 sets (of 4) of the clear latte mugs we registered for...now they better be getting us the Tassimo coffee maker to go with it!!! hahaha

Well if it is shower gifts that diff! Unless you know when your shower is then open them!
But if its a wedding gift...i say go for it!

I had to change the address on my BBB registry to my aunts house because I was getting gifts for my shower and didn't want the temptation ! ! !
I only have to wait a few more days though ! ! (but I'm not supposed to know that ! ! ! )
