Send a thank you now. Even thought your wedding hasn't happened yet, you should still acknowledge the people that sent you a gift. Once you get your thank you pics done (if you're doing them) send them another thank you.

Cash the check now and also send a thank you now.
That way their checkbook remains balanced AND they know you received their gift.

That was nice of your guest. Cash the check and send them a thank you now. When you do your formal TY's you can send them another.
