gift for BM - poll

As a small thank you gift for my bridesmaids (just to say thanks for help with bach party and shower, not as their actual gift for the rehearsal) I bought these really lovely gift sets from ebay. They are the 'Tutti Dolci' from Bath & Body Works. Inside is a lip gloss, huge body butter and a lotion. They are written in Italian and themed around chocolate and amaretto!

Here's the catch - BBW discontinued these items around Christmas and I didn't realize. So the tops of the boxes have 'Feste Felici' written on them, and I can't be sure, but maybe 'Happy Holidays' too.

Is it completely tacky to give to my girls? A coworker suggested that I just get really pretty paper or lace and glue it to the cover and 'make a new cover' or something similar. That seems a little shady.

What do you think? I'd hate to lose over $150

I would try to at least cover it up if you don't want to lose the $$ you spent completely. I just wouldn't want to think that you 'regifted' it from an old holiday present or something..

I'd just be honest and explain what happened. These are friends that you value enough to ask them to stand up for you at your wedding, so I'm sure they'll understand and appreciate the sentiment.
