Gift for Bridal Shower Hostesses?

I have heard you're supposed to give them gifts?? Yes or no?
if so, what?

Mt MOH is throwing it (mid-20s, single, lives in a small apt. w/a roommate) and we're having it at her parents house, so I'd want to get something for them too.I was thinking flowers... but I dunno, should I give something more??

I have never heard of this.. I just hosted my best friends shower along with the other MOH * two of us) and we didn't get a gift. I think its just one of your responsibilities of being in a BP. I don't thik I expexted to get anything

i figured the gifts you give the BP at the rehearsal dinner were a thank you for being in the wedding AND for the parties they planned. no?

my shower was at MOH's house. I sent her a care package. She and her husband love our recipe for cold Asian noodles, so we sent them all the ingredients to make a few batches.

i think I will just take flowers w/me (I know when it is) one for her and one for her parents. I think it'll be nice and not too pricey

I didn't give my mom and BP gifts for throwing my shower... I just wrote them extra personal thank you notes to express my gratitude! I don't think anyone expects more than that... none of my friends or family have given gifts before.

never heard of this...........the past few showers i have been to i never heard anyone givng the hostess a gift...i got my MOH an extra gift than everyone else for the BP gifts but thats it...i think some people just expect too much
