I hate shopping for my FH. He likes electronics and video games and I think that's unromantic. His birthday and our anniversary are a week apart (lucky me). Anyway, this is 5 years coming up, so I was wondering if any of you have any romantic ideas for gifts or things we can do!

Our anniversary is close to Valentines Day, so we always do a combo gift too. One year I took my FH to Peter Lugers. It was expensive and he loved it (loves steak!) and we still talk about the day we went there.

IMO, I would just go for what he likes -- if his thing is electronics and video games, that's what you go for

Yup, I agree. I always have to go for the 'unromantic' gifts but it makes him so darn happy, how can I resist?

How about a weekend away? For our 3 year we went to Caesar's Poconos Palace . It was a little cheesy (heart tub, own pool, lots of red and a round bed), but we had such a great time!

i remember that shot.. poconos isn't cheesy compared to alot of places in PA you can goo to.
I surprised FW to trip but she was clueless where we going...we turned where this sign was and she knew i was up to no good :) i wouldn't stay more then 2 days and try to go on weekdays...weekends get a lil crowed..
as for electronics..
you should get somthing he will enjoy even though it doesn't feel romantic

I like Cove Haven..... we go every year. Pocono Palace is nice too! Especially in the summer there are alot of water sports & stuff

We LOVE Paradise Stream and go AT LEAST once a year if not twice.

Here is a unique idea. You can take one of your favorite snapshots of something he loves (example- a car, truck, motorcycle, or even the two of you,- anything), and bring it to a photo shop, and have it blown up, and framed with a nice border. I did that once, and it came out pretty nice. The price depends on the shop you go to, and the size of the picture. The one I had made up was around $150.00 or so.

The trip thing would be so cute if we hadn't just gotten back from disney world a week ago.... for our anniversary I'm taking him to see 'I love you, you're perfect, now change' and one of the ideas I had for his birthdya is to get that citypass thing and do the tourist thing, the circleline cruise around manhattan, the top of the empire state building. We'veboth lived in NY all our lives, but of course we've never done the touristy stuff....I thought it might be fun!
