gift for our daughters

gift for our daughters

FH and I have 2 daughters-Brianna will be 6 and Mikayla will be 5 when we get married next year.
Does any one have any suggestions on something special that we can do for them during the service/reception?

They are our flowergirls(to young to be a bridesmaid or MOH'S) but we would like to do more-make them feel special....(they already are but...)

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: gift for our daughters

I read a review once where a woman who was marrying a man who had a son from a previous marriage said a set of vows to her husband, and then a set to the little boy promising to be loving and faithful as his new mom. I thought that was a tremendous idea and it moved me to tears.

Although the children are jointly yours (and have great names, i might add ) you may want to consider having a seperate little set of vows to them concerning your commitment as newly married parents to love, honor and cherish them. I'm sure you already DO that, but I think it's an incredible way to honor the family unit in the ceremony. Have them join you up there at the end-the photo ops will be priceless!

WHen DH and I were married, we gave him something called a Family Medallion at the ceremony. We did it right after we exchanged rings. It's a small medallion on a chain, with 3 intertwined circles representing the joining of a new family. He absolutely loved it!

We did the family medalian too. After we exchanged vows they called up my stepdaughter sidney. I gave her a cross. It was very nice and touching. The priest blessed our marriage and then us as a family. Everyone loved it. Of course my ham of a daughter bowed becuase everyone was clapping

This is what we did and my son loved it - he had no idea we were going to do that. He was 6 when I got married.
