I know this topic has been touched on before, but my FI and I had everything figured out for my parents - we were going to get them a gift certificate to one of the caesar's pocono resorts (my dad hates to fly but needs a vacation desperately)...they are doing a lot for us for the wedding, and everything...BUT just this past weekend, my brother and his wife gave them an anniversary present 'a weekend away to anywhere they want to go'...lol. Now its back to square one - and only 3.5 weeks to go. HELP!

Re: Gift for parents
Would they like to come into NYC? You can do dinner and a play or something like that.
ETA: or, how about a 'couples day at the spa' and get them some relaxing massages.

Re: Gift for parents
Thanks - :) They are not city people, unfortunately - my dad still relates hopping on the LIRR to going to work. The other idea I'd had was getting them a curio cabinet that they'd been looking at, but they just bought it for themselves - another anniversary gift! (Ahhhh!!!)
Any other ideas?

or one of those weekend deals in AC or g/c to their favorite restuarant or a bunch of different ones.. or a restaurant they wouldn't normally go to that may be too expansive.. get then a g/c
I got my FMIL &FFIL a g/c to tellers.. they took a bunch of us with them.. OMG the food there is awsome a lil pricey though
