Gift for Parents

Gift for Parents

Hello ladies,

I'm not sure what the norm is but what do you give your parents as a gift for the wedding?

My parents are paying for my dress, and reception. His parents haven't offered anything, so I don't know what to do.

Do you present it at the rehearsal dinner as you do for the bridal party?

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Suz

Typically, all of the gifts [for BP, Readers and Parents] are given at the RD. But if you are not giving one set of parents a gift- I would not give the parent gifts then- do it in private. FH and I will be giving our parents albums when our photographer is done making them! HTH!

That's great. I didn't think of the albums as a gift. Thanks!!!

I'm in a similar situation, my parents are paying for everything and his are paying for nothing. We are giving both sets a 3 picture frame with a pic of us when we were little, a poem, and a space for a wedding pic. We are also sending my parents to Vegas for 3 nights as a special thanks and I dano't know if its rude or not to give it in front of his parents at the RD.

Excellent. This is my worry, because I really don't want to offend anyone either.

We already purchased his mom a gift, earrings to wear on the day of the wedding. Her b'day is actually a month before so I was thinking we can just give it to her for that and say to wear them for the wedding. I have no idea what to get my parents, they really don't travel much. They do love Lancaster PA, so maybe I'll plan them a trip to there. They'll drive, but won't fly.

Thanks again.
