Gift for the new daddy?

I know DH is getting me a piece of jewelry with the birthstone in it to commorate the birth of our first child next month.

I wanted to surprise him with something special as well so that he'd have something for the rest of his life to remember how special this time is in our lives. I got him a good watch when we got engaged, and I got him engraved cufflinks for the wedding. He really doesn't wear jewelry, so a ring, necklace, bracelet, etc. is out.

Any ideas?

What about getting the watch you already bought him engraved with the birthdate on it?

My brother and his wife just had a baby and he has a hat that says Tyler's Daddy on it. Maybe not lifetime momento, but he loves it

Good question - I was wondering the same thing. Dh bought me a birthstone pendant for Christmas (hopfeully this little one stays inside until Feb - we had a few scares of late)...I wanted something too but feel like I am in the same situation as you.
