So my FMIL came to me the other day and was talking to me about what me and FH would really like for a gift from our sisters(4 of them). She said they were originally planning to get a bedroom set for us, but we ended up getting one we really like. We are going to be living at his parents for a year or so and don't have storage room really so it makes it even harder. I personally don't think they have to get such an expensive gift, but I understand they want to get something that will be meaningful and we will get a ton of use out of it. Any suggestions?

how about they give you the money they would have spent on a living room set? if you put it aside, you can buy the living room set with it to put in your new place together. Our sisters did the same thing, FIL & MIL bought us our bedroom set and both of my SIL's bought us our sofa's, wall unit, coffee table/end tables and my sister bought us our kitchen tables. We didn't think they needed to spend that much, but it was something they wanted to do since they love you. I'm sure its the same with your siblings
