Hey guys!! question, I've received quite a few gifts already from co-workers and family members, and friends who can't attend.. I know I send them a thank you card but when? Do I do it now, or after the wedding when I send one out to everyone who attended? It seems like such a long time will elapse before I hve the opportunity to thank people that I see every day...

Re: gift protocol..
Do it now. They already sent the gift. I would just say something like 'Wish you were able to be there. We will miss you!'

Re: gift protocol..
thanks!! it seems odd to have someone wait that long.. especially when 12th night takes a bit of time to get those pictures back.. i ca't see myself waiting till april to give someone a thank you crd for a gift i received in feb..

Re: gift protocol..
Just say thanks for the gift and I can't wait to see you at the wedding. Then after the wedding you can send the photo one saying thank you for attending our wedding and sharing in our special day with us.

Re: gift protocol..
I think the 'proper' protocol is to send a quick thank you card within 2 weeks of receiving the gift, and then send them a formal card when you send out the rest after the wedding

Re: gift protocol..
i think if you want to wait until after the wedding to sent the photographer ones - that would be ok also
Technically - you have a year to send thank yous for a wedding - so waiting a few months isnt that big a deal.

Re: gift protocol..
I actually sent someone a gift early once. I got a thank you when I sent the gift, then another one after the wedding with the professional pic.
