If someone buys you an engagement gift on their own valition - meaning, if you didnt have an engagement party - are they not supposed to get you a shower gift if they are coming to your shower????

i say yes, they should get you a shower gift. you are having a shower, they are invited ! and how can you show up without a gift.. i know i couldnt. and you didnt have an E-party.

If some one attends a shower, they should bring a gift. That is what the shower is for. To shower the bride with gifts. A wedding is another story. Someone may attend your wedding and not give a gift. (despite how rude we think that is) a gift is not expected, but at a shower it is. What happened before, engagement party or no, has no bearing on the shower.

Agreed. You should def. bring a gift to a shower, regardless of what was given to you beforehand
