Gift Registry

Hi Ladies,
I'm a little concern about our gift registry...my wedding is on June 22 and nobody have purchased anything from the registries, well only one item. We are spending around $50,000 on our wedding so all our gifts ranges from $60-$175..is that too much to ask for?

Don't be worried. My bridal shower was today and nothing was bought off my registries until yesterday. Some people wait until the last minute!

$60-$175 sounds reasonable. I think people just like to procrastinate :)

I wouldn't worry. People look for different price ranges. Some inexpensivethings and some expensive things are the way to go. I'm sure you'll be fine. :)

Most of my guests got me gifts between $40-$60, with some over $100 (my china, really).

Not sure if you are talking about your wedding or shower. People usually give cash for weddings unless otherwise specified. I wouldnt worry about it though cause people usually wait till the last minute. For my baby shower I got a gift here or there and then the week before everything went. My shower is June 1st and only one gift has been bought so far.

did you have a shower?

otherwise, you may end up with more cash gifts being in NY.

for my shower a handful of people purchases gifts a few weeks before but majority waited until the week of the shower, everyone waits until last minute! Lol. If you did not have a shower or are not having one, you might expect to receive mostly cash gifts.

Thank you ladies sooo much!!!...I feel much better..the gift registry was for the wedding....I had a bachelorette/lingerie party, that is why I decided not to do a wedding shower.

If anyone gives u cash you can just go and buy your own items. Might work out better cash wise anyway because u might get more $$ in an envelope then the cost of an actual gift...

I think money is better. You tend to buy things as you need them. I moved out with nothing 3 years ago. I bought alot of cheap things to get me by. But now as I have the money I slowly replace things with value items. Honestly I felt guilty creating my registry because we honestly don't need anything other than some furniture peices. Some things would be nice to have.... My FH felt it as a waste but there are so many options these days, honeyfund etc. I hope I get more gift certificates so I can save it for things we would need in the future.
