Is anyone sending out those little gift registry cards that stores supply when you register with them? Is that considered tacky? If you are sending them, what are you sending them with - invites? I have to get my invites out in about a week and we are going to do registry tomorrow so I was curious.
Arrrgggghhhh everything is so frustrating!

Re: gift registry etiquette???
It's considered extremely poor etiquette to send registry info with the wedding invitation. Some people choose to send it with shower invites, but IMO, that's a little tacky as well, but I've gotten the insert in 4 out of the last 5 shower invites I've received. If people want to know where you're registered, they'll find out, spread the word by word of mouth.

I was thinking the same thing, especially considering my pain-in-the-you-know-where FH wants to register at like 7 different stores since we can't seem to find everything in one place.

Re: gift registry etiquette???
When I am invited to a shower, I appreciate the registry inserts. I would not put them in your wedding invites, you put them in your shower invites. IMO, they are NOT tacky and word of mouth sometimes doesn't spread to everyone and I feel that registering is helpful to some guests. No one is telling anybody that they HAVE to buy from the registry.

I feel the same - keep them in shower invites - not the wedding invites....leave it to word of mouth for the wedding. I just cringe when I see it in wedding invites. These are typically more formal than a shower invite - it just doesn't work.
As far as etiquette - I believe they say it is alwaysi n poor taste but I think it is pretty common place for us to see them in shower invites and for me much appreciated.

Put them in the shower invites, since you are not hosting that party it is not considered tacky. Plus, as a guest - you want to know where to shop for the shower gifts.

Re: gift registry etiquette???
OMG. my FH wants to register at Home Depot!!! (do they even do that?!?)
Edited to add: My MOH (sister) is going to put a little personalized p.s. in the shower invites to ask people to call her about registry info *if interested* b/c we have a lot of out-of towners (from overseas) who may need to purchase registry stuff on the internet.

Re: gift registry etiquette???
Put the little cards (not 7 of them-3 max.) in the shower invites...it's very helpful to people who want to buy gifts for you! And yes, Home Depot does do that I believe

People expect them in the Shower invites, so you're safe doing that. I wouldn't put them in the Wedding invitations though.

You should only send them out with your shower invitations. For the wedding, it is always by word of mouth.

Re: gift registry etiquette???
What I did for my friend when I threw her a shower was made cards on a separate piece of paper from the invitation on petal paper with all the places she was registered, what time of wishing well she was having, etc.
