gift registry question???? with poll

I am currently registered at 3 places

Macy's
Bed bath and beyond
Linens and things

We have lots of guest from the west coast and from the south...

Do you think 3 registries is too many (especially since linens and things and bed bath and beyond are similar places )

opinions please

thanks in advance

FOrtunoff
BB&B

I think three is fine. Just make sure you have a sample of everything everwhere so you get all different types of things. Good Luck!

I have two registries, (macy's and lnt).
I don't think 3 is too many if you have different stuff on each of them and if you have items in different price ranges.

Mishu, don't worry. Three registries is ok, especially since you have a guests all over the US. Anything over 3 is way too much.

I, myself, have only 2: Macy's & Crate & Barrel.

i used just one for the shower since i have seen people with two registries get lots of duplicates, like 2 coffee makers and stuff.....it worked well for me.......
i used bed bath and beyond and after my shower checked out Linens n things website and they seem to sell more of a variety of things, in addition to the regular items... like i could have registered phones there, the dehumidifier.... things BBB didnt carry......

i am registered at 2 places, but they are all different. bb&b, fortunoff, and william-sonoma. i had my shower on wednesday and i only got two duplicates from the 60 people that were there. i was impressed. i don't think i would do linens &things and bb&b because they are so similar.

I actually registered at a LOT of places because they are all specialized and/or have different types of things:

Fortunoff - only a few things - we really liked a particular rug so we registered there to get the discount after the wedding. It turns out that it went on a crazy sale so I ended up buying it already. Go figure!!

BB&B - household stuff like a drill, smoke detector, vacuum, handheld shower head, miscellaneous kitchen stuff

William Sonoma - ended taking almost everything off and moving it but I registered for kitchen stuff - pot holders, salad bowls, mixing bowls, etc.

Michael C. Fina - all our dishes (both China and everyday stuff), serveware (again both China and and everyday stuff), crystal and flatware (we did not register for silver) - they offer a great discount for our buyers and take coupons as well

a Gift Store in my Mom's town - Vases, platters, fancy bowls, everyday glasses - they discount everything and we were basically told that my mom's friends and family were going to buy there regardless of whether we registered there or not so we are better off registering so we can get what we want

Bloomies - basically everything else! Sheets, towels, gadgets (for the wishing well!!!! ), vases, picture frames

It really seems like a lot of places but you have to do what is right for you and your family. I have not yet had my shower and I have gotten over 100 gifts off my registry already. Needless to say we have very generous friends and families. I am glad that I registered at all these places since it gives our guests options. Hey, the purpose of registering is to make it easier for your guests to get you gifts that you want. If you don't put duplicate stuff on the registries, the odds of you getting duplicates are very slim. Also, I know we are all peekers ( ) so if you get a gift from another place, just be sure to remove it from the place that you did register at!

Im 3 as well:

Fortunoff
Crate & Barrell
Macys

Some things are nicer at one place than others--if anything, I feel it only gives people more of a variety.....I felt a bit rude at first......but now Ive accepted it

we did Bloomies and Target.

I think three is fine, though. Gives people options.

We have 2:

thehoneymoon.com and BB&B

We've already lived together for 3 years and have a house, so we just wanted a honeymoon registry, but added the BB&B one for our more traditional guests to choose from.
