is everyone giving the parents gifts?? My problem is my fh's side hasn't contributed at all to the wedding, and I feel giving them a gift is unnecessary. I can't give my parents a gift and not my FH's, so I was wondering if the gift was necessary at all? TIA!

Re: gifts for the parents
i am having the same issue!! i have decided that i am giving my parents a gift from ME, not from US, and if my FH wants to give his parents a gift, that is fine with me. i will probably give it to them the night before the wedding.

Re: gifts for the parents
we gave both sets up parents gifts , they both contributed to the wedding...
some people still give a gift whether there was a contribution made or not, thanking them for raising a good son/daughter- one you would want to marry but it is not necessary

Re: gifts for the parents
I decided to give those parents (my mom and his parents) who are not really contibuting a small gift. Just nice picture frame. We'll also include a note saying to reserve the frame for a picture of all of us from our special day.
You at least want to acknowledge them as your/or his parent's and your appreciation for them sharing your special day.

Re: gifts for the parents
For our moms we got them personalized 8x10 frames and the dads got personal lighter and cigar holders.

We were having the same problem his family hasnt contributed at all. We are getting my parents something and he can get his parents something... My parents keep stressing for us to save our money and not buy them anything but I feel like I have to. I was think of getting them scratch tickets and hoping they could win some of there money back... I hate to buy them something that they didnt need
