We always talk about how we get gifts from our registry and money from people... what are some meaningful gifts you have received from people who you know cannot really afford to give much?
My favorite gift so far was from a friend who recently went back to school and is living off of loans... he came to our e-party, and while everyone else bought stuff from the registry or other gifts, he brought a box of cupcakes! They were really delicious and thoughtful because he knows I love cupcakes and he even got them from an out-of-the-way bakery that he knows I love.

I cherish every gift- whether they are affordable or just whatever. The best gift was from my teenage cousin. He gave me fifty bucks. But it was funny because He gave me two 20's and 10 singles. LOL. Just him shelling out 10 singles was a lot for him. I thought it was really sweet. I wouldn't have expected anything from him.

Awwwww, what a sweet gift!!!!! When I married almost 36 yrs. ago, I had a Christmas themed wedding. A cousin made me two handmade poinsettia dishes. One gal gave us a personalized wedding plate that she had made!!! Mary MOB

Ha I am replying to my own post...
when FH and I moved in together last year my sister got us tiffany toasting flutes as a housewarming present! We were so shocked to open up this tiffany's package and find this inside from her, because she is still in school and we know we must have saved up all of her money for a while to afford the present and she probably had to skip going out with friends for a few weekends! It was also entirely unexpected!

MY LITTLE BROTHER FOR OUR ENGAGEMNT PARTY BOUGHT US BRIDE AND GROOM RUBBER DUCKIES...HE WAS TOALLY EXCITED FOR THEM TO BE OUR CAKE TOPPER FOR THE PARTY...
HE'S ONLY 14...I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE MY LIL BRO!!!

My best friend threw me and engagement party at a local pub invited all my friends, paid for all these appetizers and bought the first round of drinks. Then as we were packing up she hands me a bag. Inside was a heart patterned apron and pot holder set, a frame for a pic from our e-party and a lenox ring holder. That was by far the most thoughtful gift.
I've kinda cherished everything so far, I even have a box of cards people sent us!

A friend of mine got us a great photo album with fall leaves all over it which I love and am dedicating to wedding pics and one of FHs aunts got us one of those meaningful quote books....and being a reading teacher I just love books!

my friend got me an old simon and garfunkel record which she knew i had been wanting for a really long time. it was one of the best presents i've ever gotten.
