Gifts no from registry

I received some gifts from one person tat wasn't from registry and we dnt need bc it would be a double. I feel weird asking where from what should I do?

Well what was it? The reason I ask is because places like Macy's - if you're registered there but you get something not from the registry, they'll take it back as long as they sell the merchandise. So if it's something that might be sold there you can try taking it back.

I wouldn't ask where they purchased it from unless it came up on conversation.

What is the gift? Is something that's sold at Macy's or another department store? If so, I would go to a department store and just say you got this as a gift without a receipt and if they sell it there, they'll give you a merchandise credit.

Look on the major department stores websites and see if you can find it. then you can return it and at least get store credit to get something you need!

I received a coffee pot at my shower that we didnt register for, BBB took it back and gave us store credit-- I don't even know if that's where it was from!!

It's worth a shot to just walk in like you know it came from there and try to return it, what's the worst that can happen?

Otherwise, what about returning the item that was on your registry that it's a double of?

Where is the one you have from? I would try to return it to that store.

Why the HE-LL do people buy you things that aren't on your registry! I hate that! So annoying! I mean if you needed it, you would've REGISTERED for it! Duh! That so irritates me! Grrrrrrrr

See if it's sold at BBB - even if they didn't purchase it there, and with no receipt, they give you store credit. It's awesome! We did that with a stupid beer making kit that DF got from his brother for Christmas. We got like $60 in store credit and bought stuff for our house!

it is a coffee pot thing that could also put these cups to take with you and a untensil sent with hostess set also.....I just can't believe this person would do this I would never think they would go and buy something not on my registery...just makes me think did they not see the registry cards inside envelopes???

truthfully I have no idea where it would be from....It maybe regifted lol....maybe Ill take a pic and saw you girls and maybe you girls could help me....

not sure about the hostess set but the coffee thing sounds vaguely familiar - i think i've seen something like that @ target.

Just check out the local stores - dept stores, BBB, Target, etc. You'll find where it's from or what store carries it. We got a gift from Fortunoffs and they were no longer taking returns. But, I found that Target carried it, so we returned it there for a store credit.
