Anyone know if Gina Espositio does video as well as photo? I think i really wanna do them together.....I just emailed her and got quotes, i'm trying to think if its worth it to go and see her
LOL i do hear great things about her, and although her work is very nice, it is not my style.
Yea.. I think I want to find a place that does both photo and video. It would just be easier to deal with 1 vendor.

It appears he didn't shoot your wedding nor did he shoot any of your friends weddings, so if you really don't have first hand experience regarding his work ethic, you're being totally unfair not just to him but to other brides who could possibly work with him. By saying 'I have issues with him', you're insinuating to other brides that something worse than the truth happened. As you said, this is a personal issue, keep your personal issues 'personal' instead of continually saying In this forum what you have been saying which really makes it not 'personal' but rather impersonal and very childish, come to think about it.
It just shows what kind of character you have when given a forum that allows you to say anything you want to say at the expense of others. I'm sorry for saying this but somebody has to say it.

This board is not suppose to be for calling people childish. For me I would never go with a vendor that turned me off. Just because you met with him and liked him does not mean that he is for everyone.

EXACTLY! ITA! Everyone here shares their opinions and experiences which are indeed personal. If everyone kept their personal experieces to themselves then there wouldnt be a LIW chat forum. Shes not on here trashing him, shes said herself that he does great work but shes made it clear that for HER he is not the one.

Honestly, if your issue with JayR Castillo is because he asked you to take down price he sent you privately, I think you're making it appear like he did something bad and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.
I've seen his work and have met with him and his wife and they are really sweet. He explained to us thoroughly answers to questions we have and his videos are awesome and look high end.

By saying 'I have issues with him', she's saying that she has issues with him and that he's not the videographer for her. Period. People (like kroert) who don't know what Ang's issues are can ask her about it and then decide for themselves.
Has he shot your wedding yet? Or are you also judging his work ethic based on other interactions? You're certainly judging Ang based on pretty superficial interactions...
Service in the wedding industry extends far past the wedding day itself. I want vendors who are friendly, helpful, quick to respond to emails, have good reputations, etc. Every interaction contributes to that -- whether that's in a FM on LIW that came across wrong or at my wedding ceremony. It's not just their work ethic on the day that I care about. And one vague comment shouldn't sink -- or elevate -- someone's opinion of a vendor.
For those ppl who make a judgement about a vendor based off one persons comments I believe are making mistakes. I personally take everyones comments and opinions into consideration but I ulimately make my own decision because what may not work for one person is the right fit for another. If someone is going to let one review or statement make up their minds for them that is on them and shouldnt be blamed on the person giving the review. Angela did put it out there and made her feelings known in a previous post and did so w/o trashing anyone. If in later posts somone didnt get the whole story then they can feel free to ask her personally what her issue was.

Im gonna crash here and say that Gina is amazing at what she does and maybe can even recommend someone else for you that fits your style and budget.
Try contacting Gil at Fade to Black for video....It doesnt hurt to use 2 different vendors for photo/video at all.

Totally my opinion, but I don't understand what the hostile response was for to Angela's post at all! First off, she didn't say anything negative about either vendor, just that she wasn't going with them for personal reasons- why all the hostility?? I think that people take this site WAAYYYYY too serious, and that's where the problem comes in. IDK why people feel the need to respond with such anger- there are plenty of ways to get your point across if you don't agree with someone without coming off as a (sorry to be so blunt) b$tch.
Like someone else already said, I love all of the responses that I get from other future brides and new brides, and I love looking at what people have done and things they may have done differently, but I don't base my decisions for my own wedding on this. This should be a fun place to exchange ideas and give feedback, even if it doesn't correlate with your own personal opinion
