Giorgio's?

Giorgio's?

Hey everyone, I need some help. I'm out here in CA and already put a deposit on Giorgio's for our wedding site unseen. I've heard awesome things about the place and I loved what I saw online. I'm starting to have doubts though. My parents took some pix when they dropped off the deposit, but its hard to tell a few things from the pictures.

This is going to sound nuts, but what kind of chairs do the bride and groom sit at? I can't tell from the pictures, and I want to make sure that they're not those huge wicker things. (No offense, but they're just not my taste.)

Is the place gaudy at all? There are a lot of chandeliers (sp?) and I don't want it to be too much, ya know?

I've heard the food is amazing and that is definitely one of the top priorities on my list. I like that we have the option to take pix by the water. It has a huge dance floor which is up there too on my list.

I think I'm just freaking out because I'm not there to make these important decisions and I know that booking the reception place is one of the most important things to do right now. Please help and give me your honest opinions: good or bad! Thanks so much!!

I've never been to a wedding there, but have heard amazing things about the place.

Hope that helps a bit.

Re: Giorgio's?

i dont know about the chairs but i actually was in the area on monday and dropped by to see it bc i hadn't been there in over a decade. it was really nice. they were doing some painting and had pretty plants on the outside. the view of the golf course is really pretty. i like the little garden area on the left hand side. the inside seemed nice and spacious. nothing seemed gaudy to me. it's nice and quiet there. you hear no traffic.

We looked at Giorgios for our wedding and we saw it set up for a wedding. It looked very elegant-not gaudy at all. The only reason we didn't book them was our wedding is onthe smaller size. Also, the food is suppose to be great there!

I have been to 3 weddings there and have no fear - it is not gaudy at all. It's very pretty and elegant.

I just showed the pictures to FH and he thinks the place looks nice. I don't know whats going on with me.

I've also been having horrible nightmares about the wedding. I'm sure this is normal, but I still have 22 months of this!

Keep up the info on the place. I can't get there until December!!

Ooh! That last one helped a lot because I'm concerned about the b&g chairs. I don't want those huge wicker things! Thank you so much!

Re: Giorgio's?

My FH and I visited Giorgio's just last weekend. Relax, the place is wonderful. Not gudt at all (that's what I'm trying to avoid as well). The rooms looked great and the outside area is spectacular!!! Very private and very quite. The only thing I wasn't crazy about is that one of the putting greens is right outside the cocktail area. The manager assured us that we would never see anybody who wasn't invited to our wedding (the also have a resturant on the ground floor - but they use a separte enterance).
We are actually going there for dinner this Friday (maybe Thursday) evening to try the food. The only other drawback (as far as I can see) is the location. If you have people coming from say NYC, it is a bit of a hike. But on a postive note...the drive is lovley especially on a nice day!)
I hope this helps. If your interested, I can give you a review of our 'dinner'.
Best of Luck!

Re: Giorgio's?

Rasckulsbride: thank you so much for the info. Please do let me know what you think of the food after you go for dinner. We're hoping to eat there in December when we come home.
Pretty much all of our guests are from LI or coming from out of state. I think a lot of people are planning on getting a hotel room in the area so they don't have to travel or leave early.

Re: Giorgio's?

My fiance and I are booked to have our wedding at Giorgio's on Oct. 5 of this year. I have not heard a bad thing about the place. The food is wonderful, the views are gorgeous, there is only one wedding there at a time and I heard that they just redid the entire foyer. I actually thought the dance floor was a little small, but that is just my opinion. I believe all the chairs are the same, no wicker, I think they are metal with black cushions. As for being gaudy, they are not. It is very tastefully done and trust me because I hate gaudy and did not book certain places because of it. Trust me, you will not be let down, you made a good decision.
