Giorgio's Brides

Have any of you used Malkmes for flowers? They were recommended by the RH and on the preferred vendor list but I haven't heard anything about them..

Are there any other florists you recommend for Giorgio's??

TIA

This is my next thing to tackle...I plan on meeting with Hidden Essence, ******* & Flowers By Brian to name a few.

Re: Giorgio's Brides

I met with three different florists that are somewhat close to Giorgios. They were Warners, With All My Heart, and Malkemes.

Warners was very reasonable and laid back, but I had a feeling that I wouldn't get exactly what I wanted with them as some of the info she wrote out on the contract was very vague.

I hate to say anything negative but going to Malkemes was not a pleasant experience. We sat there for two hours while the woman answered the phone 8 different times and each time had to come back and tell us exactly what the person had called about. Not to sound high maintenance, but I just knew I didn't want to go with a place that treated a bride like that when I had made an appointment. I told her I wasn't ready to choose exact colors yet, but I knew what types of flowers I wanted in each bouquet, boutonniere, corsage, and centerpiece. So I just wanted to get an estimate for price and then contact her about exact colors at another time. Yet, she made me choose the color of every solitary flower in each one of the arrangements listed and kept saying 'You can always change it, but for now I want to write down everything you say.' I felt like with that approach if I did try to change it, it would have been a problem. Also, she wouldn't let me bring home the contract to review unless I gave a deposit. This was not an issue at the other places. I'm sure some people have had very good experiences with them, but I just didn't feel comfortable that they would be easy or fun to work with going forward.

Finally, With All My Heart is located downstairs at East Winds. You don't necessarily feel like you're at a florist there as you're not surrounded by gardens and live flowers, but once I got past that, I really loved them. We met with the owner there who seemed to understand exactly what I wanted and even suggested certain ways to get the same look for a more reasonable cost. I showed her a picture of the centerpiece that I wanted and she showed me exactly how she would recreate it. In the end, she ended up being the medium price between the three, but she was the one that I had to go with. She said that the day before my wedding I could even stop in and take a look at all of my flowers being put together and that at the next Giorgio's showcase she would display a model of my centerpiece if I wanted to come and take a look at it.

I hope this very long-winded answer helped!

Thanks for the awesome info! I can't believe you had that experience at Malkames! I would have been unhappy as well. I didn't even know there was a florist at East Wind! I'll check them out. Thanks ladies.
