Giorgios brides cake ?

I am going to be using La Bonne Boulangerie Bakery & Pastry Shoppes, Giorgios cake vendor. When I called to ask about choosing a cake they told me they don't see you to a few weeks before. I was wondering if anyone else was told this? I am concerned since the few weeks before my wedding is all the Holidays, Christmas Shopping, and meeting with vendors.

If you want a basic cake...you can order it directly through Giorgio's. If you want an upgraded cake you need to meet with the baker. Please make sure you are very specific with what you want!

I ended up getting an upgraded cake. I didnt meet La Bonne in person bc I live in NJ but emailed them specifics. They kinda got what I wanted but kinda f-ed it up a bit. For instance I only wanted a few buttercream roses placed on the cake and they put ALOT of roses. The green leaves around the roses were florescent green...ugly. AND the worst part was they got red airbrush marks on the cake where the roses were places. Ugh. HOWEVER...the cake tasted delicisous! I had brown cake with white cholocolate ganache filling..yumm. So many people raved about it!

If you don't mind me asking, how much did they charge for the upgrade. I don't know what I really want, and I'd like to go for a tasting at least.

I think it was $200-250. But I only upgraded the filling and then they let me design the outside of the cake..as long as it was buttercream. If you want to upgrade to fondant it is much more...maybe $400 but I cant remember. I dont think they do tastings either. You can have them make you a mini cake but it costs $$$.

Thanks, I called them again and told them I would really like to set up an appointment and they were able to give me a appointment next weekend. I hope we can get a tasting of some sort.

So if you want cannoli filling it's extra?

From what I understand, anything different from what is included is extra. This why I was so set on going and seeing the cake not just placing an order for it.

Re: Giorgios brides cake ?

At our cake tasting we had tried cake from La Bonne....I personally didnt care for it. We are actually using Macayla Michaels Bakery in Nesconset. with them you go to the bakery which is setup like a living room and they make you a cake for five to taste and take with you. Once we tried this cake there was no going back, it was absolutely delicious. We are having marble cake with chocolate chambord mouse. FM me if you want the info.
