hello all it is my first posting (though ive been visiting for months..!!) just got back from helping my son and daughterinlaw2b plan their menu at giorigos. i cannot believe how helpful, creative and wonderfully we were treated./. one minor thing is that we need to use their bridal suite early on wedding day .. to get the hairdos done.. and they are charging us..dont really understand why since they will be there anyway .but in the scheme of things it is small potatoes.. otherwise i giv e them 100% raves so f ar.. they have set high expectations and i bet they will meet them.. the place is gorgeous / i feel so lucky that we found them. we are all so excited about the menu ..etc wedding is in 24 days!! i hope the band will be great did anyone use sound image? we used warners for flowers and they have been great so far. will write with reviews once it is over / sigh! mother of the brid e is wearing fancy pants so i am too! i am happy to be comfortable anyhow if anyone has mom advice for dealing with everything /like how to get thru the mother son dance without crying../ id welcome it.. thanks and God bless !! lorlu

Re: giorgio's rocks
Congratulations!
As the MOG twice I can tell you that you WILL NOT get through the mother/son dance without crying. I did for both my sons. The one in the picture with me is my younger son who got married a little over a year ago. It was really special for two reasons, the first because his birthday was two days after the wedding and the second was because he made it home safely after spending a year in Iraq in the army. So I really cried. For my older son they played close to you as our dance song and that was a song I sang to him as a baby. It fit him perfectly because he is blued eyed and has blond hair. Don't try to hold it in just let it go and enjoy.

Well,I'm not perfect either in this life. I'm beginning to see this more as I grow older in my faith. Oh, sure, temporarily, one gets annoyed/angry, but I think of my many imperfections and how THE LORD loves me in spite of them, and asks me to forgive as HE forgives. It's HARD sometimes!! Sometimes, I have to pray A LOT, before I feel ok again, and not angry. Mary

Re: giorgio's rocks
Hi and welcome.... I was step-mother of the bride in 7/06, mother of the bride last summer and will be mother of the groom this summer. I am also anxious about the mother/son dance. It is a very emotional moment. I remember dancing with my son at my wedding (second wedding) he was 14 and I was a emotional mess!I am sure whatever your emotional state...it will be a very special time....so be yourself and enjoy your dance without worrying about anyone but yourself and your son.
I have to say I never spent any time crying at my daughters' weddings....I really had so much fun at the weddings. I hope you enjoy yourself as much as I did....it goes so fast ... so enjoy!

Thank you and I will tell him you said thank you. Peter likes to give me gray hair because he told me last week that he re-enlisted in the Army reserves for another 12 years. (Yikes now I'll never sleep). No, my make up wasn't airbrushed but he quickly said something funny then twirled me around so that I would stop crying and concentrate on the dance. By that time I really didn't care if my make up ran or not anyway. Have a ball at your son's wedding and post pictures if you can because we all want to see!!! Yes, It did make me mad when people didn't respond on time, as you said it is very RUDE! I just can't understand why people do that because it takes all of five minutes to write out the card and put it in the mail. Again it is RUDE not to RSVP on time.

Don't worry Lor with all of us praying for you the weather is going to great for the wedding. As soon as I can make it to St. Pat's (I work 5 blocks away in Manhattan) I'll go in and light a candle for him. I did that for both weddings and both had beautiful weather. Peter did try to soften the blow when he told me that he re enlisted because he knew I would be upset. I asked him why he likes to give me gray hair and he just laughed and said he misses it. MISSES IT ASKED him what he misses 'getting shot at'. He said no that he likes being in the miitary and said he is going to put in to be an officer (he already is a top sgt.) so he won't have to be front line. They shouldn't be sending him overseas for another 4 years, so they said but we all know the army will do what they want when they want no matter what they say. I'm just glad it is the reserves and not regular army because then they may be able to send him away quicker. I just have to keep praying that he makes it through all of this safely and then he will have great benefits and retirement funds and he'll only be 42 so he'll be set for life. But for these 12 years it will be tough wondering day to day if he will be called away. Again, have a great wedding and we will all pray that the weather is sunshiney and warm. Liz
