Are you telling them in advance you are buying it for them? Or making it a surprise (i.e. gift at the rehersal dinner)?
I bought my girls their DOJ and a BAG and wanted to give it to them at the RD but i'm afraid if I don't tell them, they will buy it for themselves, not realizing I am buying it for them.

I was planning to give it to them at the RD, but then my sister asked me the other day if I wanted them all to wear the same jewelry.........My response: 'Maybe I already have that taken care of....'

i told them i bought them jewelry. I'm going to give it to them the day of the wedding in the morning. i didnt want them to go out and buy stuff since i already bought it.

I would tell them ahead of time not to worry about earrings/necklace (or whatever it is you are getting them) because you have something for them.
