I am lost on what to do about decorations. I have bows for the pews but thats it. I dont know what kind of flowers to get for the church or what to do with the bows! Im lost!!! My theme is gerbera daisys and the beach. What suggestions you have for me??

I am just doing bows, my priest has a very good point when he said that the my church is so big you would have to spend thousands of dollars to get enough flowers for them to be noticed.

I am not decorating my church at all. It is so beautiful on its own. Also check with the church to see what they normally have. FOr me they are having communions in the am so the church will be decorated.

I am just doing pew bows. No flowers - my florist actually said - it's unnecessary and is a waste of $$$.

I'm doing bows on the pews and my florist is making large arrangements to put on the altar. Then the arrangements are coming to the RH with us

i don't plan on decorating the church. its really important for me that everyone not get distracted and that i PERSONALLY don't get distracted with that. my church is really beautiful.

We are putting pew bow on the first three pews and we are getting two alter pieces of flowers- The flower arrangements will be fairly large and on stands. The florist gave us a good price...but I agree with the the girls that are not having flowers...If it wasn't for my mom insisting that I NEEDED flowers I would have saved the $300.

I'm keeping it simple as the church. Doing two large arrangements for the altar, tulle on the first ten pews and a custom aisle runner.

I'm just having two baskets of white flowers in the front because my church is old fashion and is dark.I dont think im going to waste time with pew bows, i'm not having alot of people come so it wont really matter.

We are tying boquets of flowers to every other pew (or every 3, my church has literally like 100 pews). then we're doing large arrangements on the altar that will come to the RH with us.
I really dont think I'm doing anything at the church. I want to keep that simple...but my mom thinks I'm crazy b/c she sees it as the most important part of the wedding... which she is totally right!!! BUT I just don't think I want anything there... The church is sooo beautiful as it is. Really the only thing I have now is the Blessed Mother bouquet.

I don't think we are going to do much with the church, its such a beautiful church by itself I don't think it needs it. If anything, my moms friend, who is doing are flowers, said we could use peace lilly plants or something for decoration, but I don't think I want to spend the extra moolah!

We are having our florist do something simple. We didnt want to spend a crazy amount of money at the church since we are going to be there only about 35 minutes.

Well, I'm trying my hand at pew bows, and Donna plans to have just one alter flower arrangement. I'm not sure if she's renting any candlabra, etc. Mary MOB

What about candles? My florist was really pushing for that.... and it was GEORGOUS! But my church is too bright for the candles to really look how they should... so I veto'd him. But I loved it! FMIL wants to do pew bows and she is pretty crafty so I know she will be able to whip up something good for us. Right now the florist thinks he is doing a whole lot... but i will be toning down what's on his list... I think. We have some sort of white branches with flowers and some potted white plant thing. I really don't know the details... clearly we need to talk about a plan... but I figure I have some time.

Oh actualyl you know what i saw that was soooo nice! They made cones out of wallpaper... but that textured thick wallpaper (think like the rose petal cones but with a flat top) then they put flowers in it and punched 2 holes out and hung them on the pew... it was GEORGOUS! Very easy to do and not expensive at all! I have pics of it in my DIY book!

we paid for 6 pew decorations,bows or flowers(i havent decided yet..and 2 alter peices.havent picked out what yet..but like u im using alot of gerber dises so it will prob be those

We're not doing a stitch at the church...it's extremely ornate to begin with, so it really doesn't need much. Not to totally jack someone elses pic, but this is what I mean:
Now picture it in Christmas time with HUNDREDS of red pointsettas on the steps of the altar, plus every arch over every icon covered with sprays of pine and sugared fruits, pine and sugared fruit swags on the pews instead of bows, and a flipping 7 foot tall fully decorated and lit Christmas tree on the right...Yeah, we're not spending a DIME on decoration LOL.
