Girls getting married during Lent

To those girls who are getting married during Lent next year:
Just wanted to advise you about something that happened to a girl who goes to my church. She got married the week before Good Friday on a Friday and the church did not allow them to bring any flowers. They also had all of the crosses and the statues covered (as is customarily done during Lent to observe the season). Not sure if this is a deal-breaker for any of you. It personally wouldn't bother me, but this girl I know was so devastated because she only found out a week before her wedding.

Just wanted to give you all the heads up!

I actually wanted my wedding on the last sunday in april, which ended up being Easter!!!!!!!!! It screwed everything up lol!!! Then I sad then that Sat before easter and my mom was like 'I don't think any celebrations should be on that day'!!!! So I am May 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!! Which kind of works out well, it will be warmer and it is the day of the MS walk next year and we r doing donations for favors!!!!

i am getting married the week before good friday on a friday. But we are getting married at Rh so it doesn't matter. But year churches are really strict with stuff brought into church during lent!

Yea our priest notified us about that but it wasnt an issue - most florists also know that (i would assume).

but yea - something to keep in mind when booking stuff

I already figured no flowers and it doesn't bother me in the least. It saving me 200 bucks. And they don't cover up the cross its too big and high to do

Im getting married the day after Ash Wednesday and the priest told me its usually a big issue with the decor but he said its only a day into lent so he can let me do minor decor, nothing too crazy.

Also...my church told me that during lent they still allow flowers for weddings 'of course' lol They said that they just request you have them removed right after your ceremony, not left behind as a donation.
