GIrls good at grammar

i am writing the dedication page of my dissertation and am not sure about the comma placement after sister and brother---- i know you are supposed to add commas before and after the name, but then there is way too many commas in that sentence..... so if i write it as follows, is it correct?

I must also extend a great deal of gratitude and love to my parents, Gary and Cecelia, sister Pamela, and brother Brett, who have supplied endless support and encouragement throughout my life and many years of education.

AND

Finally, thank you to my fiancé Adam.

THANKS!!!!!

It's not wrong, but I think the comma after your sister's name is a 'harvard comma' so it can be there, but it does not NEED to be. You could also write:

'I must also extend a great deal of gratitude and love to my parents, Gary and Cecelia, my sister Pamela and my brother Brett, who have supplied endless support and encouragement throughout my life and many years of education.

AND

Finally, thank you to my fiancé Adam.

hth!!!!! good luck with the rest of the project!

Both of these options are correct. I was always taught to use commas the way the original option was done, so to me that makes the most sense.
