girls, I have my first fitting 9-23 and I have NO IDEA what undergarments

to wear?????!!!!!!!! do i get a corset, or one of those long lined bras??? also, i am hoping to lose a few more lbs/inches, will that effect the size that I get???? how did you decide??? here is a pic of my gown, maybe that will help?

I went to Georgette's in Hicksville with a pic of my dress and I was fitted for a long line bra. It's perfect and since then I have lost weight but like a bra it has two levels (can't think of another word) of hooks so before I was on the last set - now I am on the first set...so it worked out fine.

I went to Marys Corsetieres in Hicksville (or Plainview) and got fitted for a long line bra. My dress is similar to yours, except strapless. I had my first fitting friday and the bra was great!

oh jeez, that's a great question! i have no idea either!...i was going to check out victoria's secret or something, and maybe some department stores. I'm not wearing a corset thing because my dress is almost a corset itself in the bodice area. I might just wear a bando strapless bra that is so comfortable...we'll see if it works with the dress. Anyway if you find out about any great place let me know - good luck!

Another HUGE RAVE for Mary's Corsetiere! They know their stuff!!! I actually wanted to do a post on this... I just went on Friday and they were WONDERFUL!!! I showed them a pic of the model in my dress...hehehe...then a pic of me in my dress. We found the PERFECT long line bra...just needed a few alterations to match 'my body'....AND she knew that I was continuing to lose weight and said that when it gets closer to the wedding I can come in and get 'refitted' and more alterations can be made.
Oh...and I also found the most perfect bathing suit while I was there...I was so worried because me and bathing suits do not go over well....I was so happy!

TWO HUGE THUMBS UP FOR MARY'S!!!!

Woodbury Road in Woodbury. I recommend getting there really early if you go on a weekend and maybe 1/2 hour early if you go on a weekday.
I went on Friday and got there approx 1/2 hour early and one lady was already there...within minutes of me getting there 5 different people came piling in!

Maybe a silly question but I am wearing a strapless dress and I was wondering how long this bra is.. I will have my baby belly too so I can't wear anything on my stomach..

Beautiful dress. Mine is off the shoulder too and I'm just having cups (actually 2 sets ) sewn in.

It varies depending on what type of undergarment you decide on. The one I chose was $57, which is what I've seen them go for at other places and this was better in my eyes because it was altered for me.

I went to both Mary's and Georgettes, I did not like Mary's at all they were very intrustive. I went to Georgettes and the ladies were great and respected your privacy so much, at Mary's both times I was there the ladies had the curtains wide open while helping people. Also Georgettes prices were cheaper for the same thing.

I guess I was blessed... I had a wonderful girl who knocked on the wall before she came in every time... That's ashame... Sorry you had such a bad experience...
