It looks very likely that April 8 will bring a government shutdown

This an April fools or real? I don't have my HM until October, we were going to wait until June after we're married to apply. I hope this is not true!

Oh no, this is true,, it's been all over the news about the shut down and passports are a federal thing, not a state law thing, so definitely do that ASAP, you know how our gov't works

This is very real!

If a budget is not approved by April 8, there will be a non-essential government shutdown. This includes passport services.

Do not put this off

yea i would get them soon because passports can take a long time to actually receive too.

The shutdown will only impact federal agencies

I think the last one was almost a month...then there is a backlog

I have to renew mine (but I want to keep the old stamps)... Any way to keep your old book???? And I gotta get it done ASAP!!! Thanks for the heads up!!
