Girls that have gone or are going to St. Lucia...

Have you been able to find a direct flight from NYC??

I remember seeing direct flights when I was searching on Yahoo's travel site.

yeah there are but there are 2 or 3 airports in St.L. Direct flights can only fly into one of them. I am going to Sandals Regency and I was told the direct flight airport can be like a 2 hour drive to Sandals. One of the stop over airports is more like 20 minutes.

This is what a travel agent told me. I havn't even begun the flight search and stuff since they arn't available for my dates yet.

Also Jet Blue will start flying there in October of this year.. direct I believe!!

I booked a direct flight on American and it was cancelled the following week and now we have a lay over in Miami. My travel agent said that everyone now and then you can find a direct flight to St Lucia but they only have it if it is needed and with the way the airlines are taking a hit its probably not likely that they will have any direct flights.

We took American Airlines direct last year, but there were limited flights. I believe, though I am not 100% positive, that the direct flights may only run on Sundays.

The drive is not as bad as you may have read. It took about an hour, and while the roads are winding and there were some sharp turns, we actually enjoyed the ride and being able to see a glimpse of the rest of the island and how people truly live there. It made us that much more grateful for being able to take such a vacation.

Missed it by a month!

But we have a direct flight on American both ways - and it is on a Sunday, that might be the only day.

I know! I'm not a good flyer but for some reason I feel more at ease on JetBlue so it's the only airline I fly and I was so happy when I saw that. We're going to St Lucia (from Vegas) for our honeymoon and I was ecstatic when I saw JB was starting service to go there.

I'm the EXACT same way!
It's still an airplane, yet if it's Jetblue, I feel more at ease.

The only have direct flights that leave on Sundays and I believe we flew American Airlines and we definatly flew out of JFK!!

I am with you I didn't think the drive was that bad. It goes by so quickly!!!

Jet Blue has started booking for this upcoming October...And best part, it's a direct flight to UVF...only problem is the flights looked like they were only twice a week...

We took a direct flight but it was to the airport on the other side of the island and then took a LONG taxi ride. It might be worth a short layover to avoid the taxi ride.
