I know there is so many things to think of but everyone is telling me that since I have an off white dress that the groomsman shirts , flower girl dresses, flowers, and table linens need to be off white! AHHHH there is so much to think about.
Just wanted to give you girls a heads up about all of this!

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
Really? I'd say just do your thing and wear whatever color makes you happy. Not everything needs to match, it's your day and to be totally honest from the weddings that I've been to, I don't remember what the linens, flower girls, guys shirts... etc... All I remember is the food and the entertainment and how happy the bride looked.
No stress!

I can understand the groomsmens shirts and the FG dress maybe even the flowers if you are using white, but linens. Idk about this. Maybe because I am using colored linens and flowers no white.

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
I am wearing an ivory dress with ivory shoes & ivory veil. I picked ivory dresses for my flower girls & FH & ring bearer are wearing ivory vests.
The only reason why I did that is because I personally do not like the way pictures come out when you mix ivory & white. I feel one always looks dirty. As for table linens, I really do not think its necessary to pick an ivory tablecloth.

My dress is ivory and the FG dress are ivory, but the groomsmen and RB are wearing white shirts, FH is also wearing a white shirt, with an ivory tie and vest. We tried the ivory shirts are the tux place and I hated them.

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
My dress is an ivory champagne and the grooms men decided on an ivory dinner jacket. I'm a little nervous about that but at this point i think as long as I like it then everyone else will too,

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
Im trying to keep my dress white and not even look at any other shade so its one less thing for others to have an opinion on
but do what makes you feel best! it is your day after all!

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
My dress was off white, but DH and the GM wore white shirts. I think we chose ivory table linens, but that was because that was what worked best for the color scheme in the room. It had nothing to do with the color of my dress.

My dress is 'off-white' but I don't think I necessarily want the guys shirts and the linens and all that to be off white too. It's not like someone is going to bring a napkin over to my dress look at me and go 'I can't believe you don't match the napkins?!?!?' I'd say do whatever color you want.

ITA! And if someone did do that, I'd knock their @ss out!
The only thing we really matched to my dress was FH's shirt- it's a light ivory color.

I agree with that- you're gonna be all up on him, you don't want your dress looking dingy. lol!

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
I am wearing ivory and FH shirt and all GM shirts will be ivory. I dont want anyone wearing white standing next to me. It will make my dress look dingy but i am really not concerned about the linens.

My dress is champagne so I am definitely going with white shirts--I think for me, ivory would look dirty. Most friend friends had ivory dresses and guys wore white...they said it was fine.

Yes Geri at lillettes told me this when I put the deposit on my dress so I am fully aware, which is why I am also having ivory pew bows instead of white.
Everything I am doing for the wedding will be ivory, no white at all!

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
If the guys are wearing true tuxedos for the wedding, please go with White shirts.
1. Getting on off-white 'tux' shirt will really, really limit your options.
2. Part of the beauty of the tux is the stark contrast between the black and the white. A tux shirt traditionally should be white.
3. All the photographers I have spoken to have said that white shirts are the way to go and will not make the dress look yellow.

Re: girls wearing ivory or off white dresses
I had an off white dress and everything else was white....honestly, I still can't see a difference in the pictures. I wouldn't go crazy with trying to match different shades of whites.
