Girls who are the late start event or at 2 event at a time RHs...

Girls who are the late start event or at 2 event at a time RHs...

So I went to drop off a payment at my RH yesterday, and one of the questions I had for them was to see if they would write the name of my dining room on my contract, because I had just read a review from my RH where apparently they changed the room on the bride day of.

I was told that they do not put the room on the contract, because if something should happen beyond their control to the room, i.e. burst pipe, they don't want to be held to that room. But they said they would show me their book, so I would see for myself that I was put in for the correct room.

So they show me the book, and I see that the other room, the designated 6:00 start room, is booked for that night. It's a corporate holiday party, so I will be the only wedding, as we pretty much were told, because our time of year it's all parties and not many weddings there.

So ideally, I was keeping my fingers crossed that the other slot would go unbooked, and I'd be the only event there, but can't really be mad that we're not, because such is a 2 event hall.

BUT...now I'm nervous, because a) we're going to be taking pics in the lobby and stuff as the corporate guests are going into CH and arriving, and I don't want to be distracted by that and have a bunch of drunk yuppies in my way, as well as when they're leaving CH to go to their party, and b) there is only a half hour turnaround time to clear them out of CH, clean up, put out fresh food (we hope), AND set out my placecards, napkins, decor, etc.

So, question is, for girls who are already married, did you run in to a similar situation, and did it go smoothly? And for girls who are not married yet, would you have the same concerns?

I'm a little worried now honestly that I'm not going to be able to get a lot of pictures done because there will be interference, and I'm also concerned that the non-specific hot chafing dishes, like the antipasto and salads and stuff will just be refilled, and not brought out fresh, and the idea of food that other people have already reached over SKEEVES me to no end.

Wait how could they not write down your actual room? Ughhhh I hate that!!! That would make me nervous, but if you did actually see that your name was under the correct one- then that would make you feel better. I would just keep asking to see it as the months went on... like in 2 months, I'd ask again just to keep checking lol

Yesssssssss I am concerned about running into other brides or running into people hanging out either outside of my Rh or in the lobby. That would really annoy me. I heard JT is pretty good about keeping things moving and trying not to allow that to happen, but Im still going to be nervous. I even called to make sure that I'd be able to take pictures without there being a conflict with another bride, but you know of course my RH would say it would be okay. I just really dont want people hanging around outside or inside because after all the money I'm paying to my Rh, I dont want all of my guests seeing people standing around looking uncomfortable.

IMO- the catering halls are so used to this I think thinks will go fine my reception is 7-12 there is a wedding in the other room from 5-10

I think everyone will be in their designated area come time to take pictures and with the way things are today if there is an akward stranger in the background of a pic it isnt like they can not edit them out

dont fret girlies all will be fine!

i worked weddings for years at a very nice country club that had multiple events. i would not be concerned you never see other people your day is all about you and filled with so many distractions. try not to think about it your pics will be great , you tell them what u r doing and they make it happen

My wedding was from 7-12 and the other event was from 8-1. We didn't run into eachother at all. Any professional catering establishment will make sure that you don't run into the other party.

I have this concern as well...I just moved my ceremony to the rh, so ch will directly follow, when i was doing this i found out there is a wedding in my ch room, that will be over 30 min before my ch. so that doesn't really leave much time to set that room up and take it down after a wedding.

but, like the other posts said they do this every weekend, and they know how much time they have. your rh has a fantastic reputation and im sure they wouldn't book something they didn't think would work out.

don't worry! (im trying not to)

I am concerned with this as well. Actually this is my situation. I am getting married at Villa as well. My ceremony starts at 12 with my cocktail hour starting at 12:30. So basically there can not be any other wedding starting until around 2( I am assuming since there is only 1 place to have cocktail hour--unless I am wrong). So my question is--We are in the pavilion room which is on the other side of the cocktail hour room--will we be able to see or hear the other party when it starts at 2? The doors in this room are frosted. Also Since I was thinking about this--we weren't given the option of a later afternoon start time (I asked) does anyone know how this all works?

My wedding was at a one event place so i dont feed back on that. I would ask your RH how do they prevent guests from another party to 1. crash your wedding and 2. seperate the two events. I'm sure they have a plan, but ask for the details

My RH wrote down the name of my room in the contract.. of course they will put me in another room if there is a burst pipe or something like that... but I def wanted that room and they said they always right the name of the roon in the contract because it goes by the number of your guests.. luckily we fell right into the room we wanted with our guest size.

I dont see why they wouldnt do it for you?

we are in a 2 wedding at a time hall and are not worried at all. Like the other girls said they are trained to make the day all about you. My feeling honestly is its not the end fo the world if i see another bride. I love the RH and love that others do too! Im not gonna get in anyones way and imsure they wont get in mine!

You are right---I love my RH too and I am just not going to worry about it. Plus that day I doubt I will even care--

BM said to me that they space events in a manor so the 2 parties do not run into each other.

Maybe they only do 1 afternoon event at a time? Because I was told in order to get the Pavillion room at night, I needed to do the late start, because they would never allow a party to be in CH adjacent to the Pavillion room because you would see and hear each other. That's the only thing keeping me from freaking...because if they WERE to flip the rooms on me, that would mean that we'd be in CH when the party was in the pavillion room, and they'd never (supposedly) do that.
