Girls who did hotel blocks--SC girls especially

I'm getting married next year at the swan club. FH and I would like to reserve a block a rooms for some OTT guest. I'm looking for a hotel that, it you don't met the minimum that they dont hold you responsible to pay X amount.

Any ideas?

congrats.. we are getting married at the sc this summer and we blocked rooms at La Quinta. It in Garden City so its like 20 minutes away but there is no financial obligation and they have a free shutlle to take your guests to and from the reception. HTH

we blocked rooms here also.... and if they arent booked up 1 month prior to your wedding, the unreserved rooms just get released to the public... and the shuttle is only free when you have 15+ rooms blocked and its only a 14 passenger

I blocked rooms at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel in Plainview, a little over 20 minutes from SC. (You can probably find something a little closer). They allow you to block up to 15 rooms without any financial obligation, and any more you add after that, you have to guarantee they will be reserved or else you are financially responsible for them. From what I understand, most hotels operate under a similar method...Good luck!

We blocked rooms at the Glen Cove Mansion. A month before your date they'll release the rooms to other people, BUT if you want to keep the rooms reserved then you're responsible for them.

I also block at the Four Points Sheraton. Ladies, also check the online rates that the hotel is selling at because the rates at the Four Points is now lower than my wedding rates. I called them and my guests were able to get the lower rates. Let the bad economy work in a positive way for you and your guests!
