you did Social security card first right? do you have to? Can you just do license then go to banks etc...

I did my drivers license first then my ss card... when you go to do your ss card you will have to bring your license and marriage cert.

I meant driver's license..
in other words is SS card necessary?
Ss said my BC and Marriage license was fine.

I dont think it matters the order. I did my SS first, then credit cards, then lisencse.

R u changing your name through your job? if so when it comes time to file taxes i was told your name on your ssn card must read the same as your w2...
R u making any changes at all (drivers license) ??

I was married in 08. I did the SS card 1st. I brought my old license, old SS card and my marriage cert. I had no problem with them. Changing my Drivers license was a hassel, but I think it was only b/c the woman was not very nice. I was able to do the banks with just the SS card and marriage license and old drivers license. it was enough proof of who I was.

You can do either SS or DMV first. When I did SS, they only asked to see the marriage certificate. They did not ask to see a driver's license or birth certificate.

Well i heard from the IRS it can cause a delay for your tax return.. dont know how tru it is...

ok Yeah I need to change at job and I changed my middle name so I guess SS first (that's why BC needed) then work, then license, then banks etc...

i did ss first but when i went to dmv they didnt ask for it so i dont think it matters. i did my bank next and next step is credit cards and helath insurance oh and work email..ugh the list goes on and on
