girls who got parent albums done through snapfish, etc....

hey ladies....

I was wondering what the quality of the album you got for your parent albums was if you got it somewhere other than through your photographer...

our quote for photography is really high, over 6k, and was wondering in an effort to save money, how did your parent albums come out by getting them done outside of your photog or doing them on your own??

we can save about 850 if we DONT get parent albums but at the same time, I don't want to do them on snapfish or another site and have them not come out nice enough??

I already talked it over with my parents and will be making them each albums on our own. I'm not sure what program I'm going to use (maybe blurb, maybe kodak) but I want something that lets me get at least a little creative with the layout. I am very well aware that the quality of the paper will be NOTHING like the gorgeous album we got from our photographer, but I'm really very ok with that. My parents don't need something put together on cardstock/board paper -- they just want something nice they can look at for the memories once in a while. I would never have given up our own album just to save money but it's different for the parents IMO.

I made an album for my parents on mypublisher.com and it came out gorgeous!

i am going to make FIL's on one of those websites cuz in our package it only included 2 parent albums and DH's parents are divorced they usually say the FIL's really dont care about getting a parent album but i wanna give him something nice!

I had them done and they turned out better than I could have imagined! The quality was amazing and everything was exactly as we wanted...my parents absolutly LOVED them

i'm planning on making books by using www.mpix.com a professional photographer gave me the website....says alot of prof. photogs use it for prints, etc.
