girls who had candy buffets

how much candy did you get and how many people were at your reception? i read before someone said 5 lbs of each type of candy but i dont know how much candy we'll actually need, we're figuring on 160-180 people.

Well I went to economy candy and I spoke to the owner...I told him how many guests I was having and he advised me as to how much candy I should get. I forget how much in total I bought.

I did a candy bar... I got closer to 10 pounds per candy but only did 10-12 candy types I think. I picked the most popular that I knew would go. You are supposed to assume about 1/2 pound per guest. I had 185 guests at my wedding and about 110 pounds went. I came home with just a small bag. I def. wanted to overbuy just in case and it ended up being perfect. My hall also put the ice cream bar in the middle of my candy bar so some people used the candy for their ice cream. HUGE HIT!!!

thanks ladies. definitely dont think we'll be able to do this now, the agreement was i could keep it at $200 or under...

That is highly doubtful, truthfully speaking. I did have 18 different kinds of candy and I guess that is kind of extreme but we had 140 people and I probably spent close to $800 on candy.
